Privacy at FakeShop
The deal, in one sentence: FakeShop is free because we sell anonymized shopping-trend data — and we only ever sell individual-level data about you if you explicitly turn that on.
What we collect
- Product views, add-to-carts, removals, and fake checkouts.
- Your email address, only if you sign up.
- An anonymous session id cookie so your cart works before you sign up.
We never collect payment information, because nothing here can be bought. Card numbers have no power in this place.
Aggregate trends (the default)
By default your activity only ever appears in aggregate rollups: counts like "sneakers were added to carts 4,000 times this week." These contain no names, no emails, no user or session identifiers. Every logged event is permanently stamped at the moment it happens with the consent scope you had at that time, so aggregate-only activity can never retroactively become individual-level data.
Individual intent profiles (strictly opt-in)
In your profile settings there is a separate toggle — off by default — to share your individual activity with brands. If you never touch it, no individual-level data about you is ever shared or sold. If you turn it on and later change your mind, you can turn it off and request deletion of everything collected under it.
Your rights (CCPA / GDPR)
- Do not sell: use the Do Not Sell My Data page anytime.
- Deletion: the same page triggers a real deletion — individual-scoped events are purged and your email is removed from our systems.
- Policy changes: consent is versioned. If this policy materially changes, your previous individual-level opt-in is suspended until you re-confirm it.
Affiliate links
Some products link to real retailers. If you click through and actually buy something, we may earn a commission. That is between you, the retailer, and your budget.
